Reports indicate that Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) may be liable for some of the damage caused in the Camp Fire, which burned more than 117,000 acres. Shortly after the blaze broke out, PG&E informed the California Public Utilities Commission about a power outage involving a high-voltage power line near the place where the fire started. In recent months, PG&E has been found liable for other fatal fires, and those affected by the Camp Fire may be able to recover compensation if the company is deemed in any way responsible for starting the fires.
